Year-End Updates for Sage 100 Contractor

Did you know that if you installed Sage 100 Contractor last year you will need to archive 2013 before you open up 2015?   Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding Sage 100 Contractor year-end updates.

Q: What is included in the Sage 100 Contractor Year-End Update?

A: The year-end update includes any government-mandated changes to year-end forms, including W-2s and 1099s; it also includes know updates to payroll tax rates.  The year-end update is provided as a download, not a CD.  Watch short tutorial video on updating payroll calculations.

Q:  When will the year-end update be available?  How will I receive it?

A:  the year-end software update will be available mid-December.  When available, the update can be downloaded from the Sage 100 Contractor Download Portal on the Sage Knowledgebase.

Q:  Which Sage 100 Contractor version do I need to have installed before I download the year-end update?  Which versions will be compatible with the year-end update?

A:  The year-end update will be available for Sage 100 Contractor Version 19.5.  Plumb recommends you upgrade to Version 19.5 before you install the year-end update.

Q:  Do I need to install the year-end update if I do not use Payroll?

A:  Yes.  Additional software updates are included in the year-end update.

Q:  When should I install the year-end update?

A:  Install the update after you close the payroll year (in 5-3-8), but before you print W2s, quarterly reports, and process payroll checks for the new year.  The year-end update affects your forms and includes changes for the New Year’s payroll tax calculations.

Q:  Do I need to install the year-end update before I print 1099s?
