She is viewed as a thought leader in the construction industry by consistently writing articles and posting Sage Tip Videos to help companies achieve better results with accounting and software procedures.
Woman to Watch Award: Margo Whitchurch, Client Relationship Manager, Plumb Family CFO
Margo Whitchurch has been named a final nominee for the San Diego Women of Influence Awards. This recognizes a woman under 40 years of age who has significant accomplishments and success in their chosen profession.
To say that Whitchurch loves accounting is an understatement! At 36, she is the next Woman to Watch. Accounting runs in her family, as her grandfather is a CPA and so is her sister.
In just under four years, Whitchurch went from being a Staff Accountant for the Corporate Outsourced Accounting division at Plumb to being promoted each year to Accounting Manager, then Controller and now Client Relationship Manager for Family CFO. She oversees a team of 15 accountants and provides both Controller-level accounting services for high-net-worth families and their businesses while also reviewing her staff’s financial reports for accuracy.
With expert knowledge of QuickBooks, and highly organized in the creation of streamlined accounting systems, Whitchurch produces timely and accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules to help her clients make better business decisions. She has over eight years of accounting experience and has become a trusted advisor to her clients.
When asked how she climbed the ranks so quickly at Plumb, she said she was eager to keep learning because she loved accounting so much. She always asks to take on more responsibilities and shadowed anyone she could to learn more.
She completed the Accounting Certificate Program at Mira Costa College with a 4.0 GPA. She was also recommended by her professors to be a math tutor, which has helped her with her current team at Plumb. She has the patience and determination to help others learn accounting.
